Nissan recalls Infiniti SUVs to fix air bags

This undated image made available by Infiniti shows the  2014 Infiniti QX80 . (AP Photo/Infiniti) DETROIT (AP) — Nissan says it’s recalling more than 1,800 Infiniti SUVs in the U.S. for an air bag problem that could send shrapnel into the passenger compartment. The recall covers some QX56 SUVs from 2013 and the QX80s from 2014. The company says inflators made by Takata Corp. were built with an incorrect outer baffle part. That can cause pressure to build up, and the inflators can rupture if driver’s side air bags are deployed. Nissan has no reports of injuries from the problem. It was discovered after General Motors recalled 33,000 Cruze compact cars for the same problem in June. The Infiniti recall is part of a larger global recall of 260,000 Nissans announced last week. Takata says the recall only affects GM and Nissan vehicles and is separate from another one covering 8 million vehicles in the U.S. In that recall, prolonged exposure to high humidity can cause infl

New Halloween Harry Potter story by J.K. Rowling published online today

A new Halloween-related Harry Potter story by J.K Rowling will be published online today.  Credit: PA In what is most definitely a treat for Harry Potter fans, author J.K. Rowling will post a brand new Halloween-themed story online today. The 1700-word story, to be published on Pottermore.com, focuses on Hogwarts professor and former witch Dolores Umbridge, who first appeared in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Umbridge, who featured as the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic, is not only one of the most malicious Potter characters, she is the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry. Do you agree with @jk_rowling that Bellatrix Lestrange and Dolores Umbridge are as bad as each other? pic.twitter.com/reRFBt7YJC — Pottermore (@pottermore) October 29, 2014 The world-famous novelist announced earlier this month that she had written a new story as a Halloween surprise for fans. Assassin’s Creed Unity: Time Anomaly Trailer Sheds New Light on Contemporary Subplot

Earlier this week, Ubisoft quietly dropped another new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity. The Time Anomaly trailer gave players their first hint at the contemporary storyline that will carry over into the game. In the previous games, Desmond Miles was plugged into the Animus, which detected the “genetic memories” of his ancestors. Desmond Miles is out of the picture, so the main franchise story will likely move in the direction of another character’s bloodline. The previous games featured the ancestors of Desmond Miles, and Arno Dorian is not Desmond’s ancestor. The brand new trailer offers the first look at the present-day timeline. It appears that the stakes of using the Animus have changed. The Time Anomaly trailer offers some exciting new wrinkles for the Assassin’s Creed unity storyline. The voice of an unknown female character warns an unnamed Assassin that the French Revolution simulation is collapsing. The Assassin is likely the main player or character and the desc

Charlie Sheen Says Network Is Open to His ‘Two and a Half Men’ Return (Video)

“They know that I want to do it, and I know that they're open to it,” he said. “So I guess we're just a meeting away from making it happen” Charlie Sheen is still talking about the possibility of him returning to his former CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men ,” now that the Chuck Lorre series is in its 12th and final season. His latest chat about it came during an interview on “Extra” with Terri Seymour Thursday. The interview came during filming of the 90th episode of Sheen's 100-episode commitment to FX's “ Anger Management ,” meaning his schedule should be open in time for filming of “Two and a Half Men's” final episodes. When she asked him if he would consider re-upping with “Anger Management,” Sheen quickly quipped, “Never leave a hit show … unless you're fired.” Sheen was fired from “Men” in 2011 after making disparaging remarks about Lorre and CBS. 411 Games Fact or Fiction: Will Game of Thrones Release in 2014?

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s edition of Fact or Fiction. As always, I am Daniel Anderson, and I hope everyone has had a good week. We have a lot to talk about this week as we had some interesting news items. Anyway this week we have 411’s Jeremy Thomas going against Stephen Randle. Let’s see what they have to say, shall we? 1.) If the newly announced $50 price drop does not let Microsoft sell more Xbox Ones then PS4’s, they will lose this console generation. Jeremy Thomas – Fiction : People are trying to call the current-gen console war over too quickly. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and while PS4 has the advantage there’s no evidence that will remain the same. Honestly I consider the “win” and “loss” of any particular generation to be ridiculous anyway. It’s part of the continued polarization of society, which infects pop culture and turns fun things ugly. Marvel vs. DC. Xbox vs. Playstation. WWE vs. TNA. The media loves a war between two sides and ha

The singer revealed on “Good Morning America” Monday morning (October 27) that she’ll represent the city for tourists. “You learn a lot when you get here, and the cool thing about being named the Welcome Ambassador for Tourism — which was the craziest, coolest thing — is that I’m still learning,” Swift said on “GMA.” “But I’m so enthusiastic about this city that I feel like, when I love something, I’m very vocal about it, I’m vocal about it with my music. I just go around like, ‘Everybody! New York is amazing!’ So I think they just picked up on that and gave me a title.
