6 Reasons This Can’t Be Jessica Lange’s Last ‘American Horror Story’ Season

As amazing as the current season of “ American Horror Story ” has been so far, with its extraordinary physical specimens, murderous intrigues, and gratuitous tighty-whitey workouts by its petulant villain, the whole thing has also been imbued with a certain creeping melancholy: the further we get into the fantastic plot of “Freak Show,” the closer we come to Jessica Lange’s last appearance as the series’ grande dame . It’s been widely reported that this will be La Lange’s last season on the show, without so much as a whisper of news that she might reconsider and stay. And with the end of “Freak Show” already looming, it’s time to stop pussyfooting around reality: Jessica Lange CANNOT be finished with “American Horror Story” yet. We won’t allow it! And here’s why. 1. She’s clearly not done doing accents. Between this season’s sultry German growl and the gritty Boston patois of “American Horror Story: Asylum,” Jessica Lange is clearly not done displaying her talent for di

'I'll outdo the Stones' promises Taylor Swift

Singer Taylor Swift Taylor Swift plans "to outdo the Rolling Stones" when she plays London's Hyde Park next summer. Ellie Goulding and John Newman have been announced as the support acts for the one-off gig on June 27. The Hyde Park show is the final date on Swift's UK tour. An impeccably placed source said: "Taylor wants this gig to go down in history. Her plans for the production are huge too. She wants to outdo people like the Rolling Stones and the Libertines who have played the gig in the last couple of years. "She's taken note that everyone wants to see what's next." The Stones played Hyde Park last year as part of the same 'British Summer Time' series. Their stage set included the recreation of a woodland, with giant screens surrounded by 70ft high replica oak trees. Rumours abound that Swift will follow the London gig with a headline appearance at Glastonbury. (© Daily Telegraph, London)

Is Bob Marley about to become the Starbucks of cannabis?

The reggae superstar's family team up with a private equity firm to launch Marley Natural, selling his favourite strain of weed (where it's legal in the US), plus skin creams and accessories. Marley, who died in 1981, is perhaps an obvious choice to launch the world's first international marijuana brand. Marley Natural says it will offer "premium cannabis products that honour the life and legacy of Bob Marley as well as his belief in the benefits of cannabis". As well as offering cannabis-infused skin lotions and balm, the firm will also be selling what it describes as Bob's favourite Jamaican strains of heirloom cannabis in countries and US states where it is legal. "My dad would be so happy to see people understanding the healing power of the herb," said Cedella Marley, Bob's daughter and CEO of his record label, Tuff Gong International.  "He viewed the herb as something spiritual that could awaken our well-being, deepen our r

Netflix confirms Australia launch for March 2015

Netflix has already secured exclusive SVOD rights to Batman prequel series Gotham After months of speculation, Netflix has confirmed that it will launch in Australia and New Zealand in March. The US-based subscription video on-demand (SVOD) service announced its intentions overnight and touted its own financed series Marco Polo and BoJack Horseman as well as Dreamworks' All Hail King Julien as titles that will be available upon launch. As first revealed by Fairfax Media in September , Netflix has also secured exclusive SVOD rights to Batman prequel series Gotham. Nine Entertainment holds the broadcast, first-run, and in-season catch up rights to Gotham. Netflix will not be able to offer Gotham until one-year after the linear broadcast on Nine. Sony Says Streaming Music Is the Future, With or Without Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's withdrawal of her song catalogue from Spotify over royalty payments made some people question the future of streaming music. Not Sony. The shift from ownership to access is a foregone conclusion for the company. In four years, streaming and subscriptions will account for 60 percent of the music industry's $8.2 billion in revenue, Sony forecasted today. That's more than triple the 18 percent now. Where Sony and Swift agree is that people should pay for music. The popularity of free songs on services like Spotify and Pandora is the reason why streaming revenues so far have failed to offset the declines in CD sales and downloads. Sony estimates one paid subscription is worth as many as seven free music streams. For every one of Spotify's 12.5 million paid customers, four pay nothing. Getting people to pay up is the music industry's major challenge, Michael Lynton told investors at a briefing in Tokyo. He heads Sony's entertainment busine

Ford’s Shelby GT350 Mustang is ready to strike at Chevy and Dodge

Capping off a year of 50th anniversary celebrations, Ford unveiled the first high-performance version of the all-new sixth-generation Mustang today ahead of the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Surprising no one after months of speculation , that car is the Shelby GT350, and it seeks to be a more well-rounded performance car than the outgoing GT500. Starting under the hood, the GT350 features a new 5.2-liter V8 that produces “more than” 500 hp and at least 400 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. That’s a little less than the 600 hp originally predicted , but Ford says the 5.2-liter is the most powerful naturally-aspirated production engine it’s ever built. It’s still not as powerful as the 2014 GT500’s 662-hp 5.8-liter supercharged V8, but sometimes how that power is applied is more important. Ford says the new engine’s broad torque curve and free-revving nature will make it more usable. Ford seems to be going for a more balanced appro

Google testing Project Loon in Australia

Google’s first Project Loon tests occurred last year in New Zealand.   Source:  AFP GOOGLE is bringing its audacious internet-transmitting balloons to Australia. The company will test-fly 20 balloons in western Queensland in December in partnership with Telstra. It’s the latest step in Project Loon, Google’s plan to beam internet to remote parts of the world via helium balloons that circle the globe on stratospheric winds. The balloons carry antennas that can beam 4G-like signals to homes and phones 20km below. For the trial, Telstra will supply base stations to communicate with the balloons and access to space on the radio spectrum. It follows initial trials above Christchurch in New Zealand in June last year. Google said at the time it was drawn to the area’s favourable stratospheric conditions. The company’s ultimate goal is to have a ring of balloons circling the Earth, bringing internet to the estimated two-thirds of people who are presently unwired. It’s also

Tesla Model S & BMW i3 Get New Skins

Tesla may be the most American car company nowadays, and especially once the gigafactory gets rolling. In honor of Veterans Day , Tesla rolled out a a Tesla Model S with camouflage vinyl wrap and louvered back windows. The special Model S was also stamped with a nice Twitter hashtag, #TeslaVets. It’s a nice tribute to the guys and gals who put their lives on the line in the name of the USA, and it also brings attention to the fact that one of the best ways to protect the country from some of its biggest threats, global warming and oil wars, is to go electric. But this isn’t Tesla’s first sign of support for vets. The California-based car company has also committed to hiring a lot of them . “The actual work was done by SS Customs, and also features unique camo wheels, a roof rack, and yellow military-esque headlights,” GAS2 writes . “Tesla revealed the Veterans day tribute via its Facebook page , with this simple message; ‘A heartfelt Veterans Day thank you to all wh

BlackBerry Partners with Samsung: BES12-Knox Team-up is Good News for Security of Android

BlackBerry and Samsung team up in the most unlikely of partnerships to deliver more secure mobility solutions to enterprise clients. (Photo : Kārlis Dambrāns) BlackBerry has a pleasant surprise for Android users: a partnership with Samsung will bring better Android security by coupling its BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) 12 mobility management platform with Samsung's business-centered Knox security system. In a move that raised eyebrows, BlackBerry CEO John Chen announced at the company's enterprise event in San Francisco on Nov. 13 that it is working with Samsung, the very company that brought the Canadian smartphone maker to its knees, to deliver more secure mobility solutions for enterprises running on Android. The partnership will provide Samsung's business clients using its Knox suite of secure work applications with an additional layer of security by having Knox run on BlackBerry's BES12 server. "People probably didn't expect to see the

CONSTANTINE: "A FEAST OF FRIENDS" REVIEW

Constantine delivered, I'd say, its first solid episode with "A Feast of Friends." Now it's possible that things felt more on the level because this particular story was lifted from Hellblazer #1, but I'd offer that there were still enough tweaks made to it from the original Mnemoth tale to make it fit more perfectly into the world that the show's created for itself. And this was also the first time that the show really dipped its toe into the emotional side of the Constantine waters. Constantine plays really well as a surface-level adventure. Our hero is sarcastic and seems to have a solution, or trick, for almost every problem. Most of the challenges so far have been in the actual tracking down of the week's respective "evil." Here, in "A Feast of Friends," the answers didn't come quite so easily, as John was in no way prepared to deal with a demon quite as powerful as Mnemoth. A demon who basically could only be contained i
